QuickBooks Online is popular globally but less common in Australia. Here's an honest look at whether it suits resellers.
QuickBooks Online has a clean, intuitive interface that's easier to learn than Xero or MYOB. Bank reconciliation is solid, reporting is comprehensive, and the mobile app is well-designed. QuickBooks also has a wider international presence, which can be useful if you sell cross-border.
QuickBooks faces the same fundamental issue as Xero and MYOB for resellers: no native eBay or Depop integration, no per-item COGS tracking, and pricing tiers that push costs up quickly. Additionally, QuickBooks is less popular with Australian accountants than Xero or MYOB, which can create friction if your accountant isn't familiar with the platform.
The Australian market for QuickBooks is also smaller, meaning community support and local resources are less readily available compared to Xero.
QuickBooks is a competent general accounting platform, but it doesn't offer anything specific for Australian resellers that Xero doesn't also provide — and Xero has better local accountant support. For reseller-specific needs, purpose-built tools remain the better option. See our Franked vs Xero comparison and best accounting software guide.
